A church, working with others, to see
10% of Epping and the Lower North West worshipping Jesus
- We can't reach ~25,000 people by ourselves. We need many more healthy, evangelistic and multiplying bible-believing churches in Epping and the Northern Suburbs of Sydney.
- This vision is not about growing EPC into a mega church. God will decide our size and we will need churches of many different sizes. It’s about being gripped by the vastness of Jesus’ heart for the lost.
- We aim for 10% because a passionate 10% can spark a movement to reach the other 90%
Every member GROWING in Jesus by His Word
- We pray for growth that comes from being deep in the word of God not from experience, tradition or reason
- We pray for growth that comes from the word of God going deep in our hearts, applying the gospel to places in our hearts and minds that are not yet touched by the gospel and for this to be reflected in our thinking, emotions, choices and behaviours.
- We pray that we will equip every member to understand the Bible rightly and stand firm on sound doctrine
- We pray for maturity that looks like security in Jesus, joyful obedience to God and love for others
Every member deepening our relationships in COMMUNITY around Jesus
- We pray for a deep, welcoming community where everyone finds a true sense of belonging—both in small groups and as a whole church.
- We seek unity in Jesus, not in shared culture, background, tradition, life stage, secondary doctrine, or politics.
- We long for a community that speaks God’s truth in love and lives out that love in action, not just words.
Every member WORSHIPPING Jesus with delight and to rest in Him
- We pray for corporate worship that glorifies God and builds the church in a way that has gospel depth, human connection and builds a gospel culture
- We pray that our worship will flow from delight, not just duty—rooted in the secure identity we have in Jesus Christ. We worship because we are united with Him, and we delight in that truth.
- We pray that every member will cultivate a deep, living relationship with God through His means of grace—His Word, prayer, and community. We understand these as God's gifts to rest in Him, not as burdens of toil, but as acts of reliance on Him.
Every member SERVING Jesus in teams from our freedom in Him
- We pray that every member is equipped to use their God given resources, gifts and unique personality to serve Jesus as good stewards.
- We pray that people will serve one another as an expression of their service to Jesus, seeking to please Him above all.
- We pray that people will serve with freedom and joy, rooted in their identity in Jesus, not out of fear or pride, seeking in ministry what can only be found in Him.
- We pray that people are serving in teams to achieve a shared goal that contributes to our mission together
Every member on MISSION in Epping and beyond for His glory
- We pray for Christ to be glorified as thousands of people are saved through the prayerful proclamation of the gospel.
- We pray that every member is devoted to Jesus’ mission in prayer—confident, equipped, and ready to use their God-given gifts, resources, and personality for the cause of the gospel. Mission isn’t just a program for a few; it’s the heartbeat of our church.
- We pray for deep dependence on God, trusting that He works through our actions. We bring our five loaves and two fish, believing Jesus will multiply them for His glory.
- We pray that our drive comes not from pride or fear, but from being captivated by Jesus’ glory, longing to see His glory cover the face of the earth
- We believe that the main mission field God gives us is the ~350,000 people who live within 15 minutes drive of our church in and around Epping
- We long to grasp the vastness of Jesus’ heart for the lost—a mission that reaches far beyond our local community. We seek to play our part in God’s work across the world.
- We pray that we will raise up the next generation of leaders and vocational gospel workers to work in God's harvest field in our denomination, city, country and the world.
A church led by godly and competent leaders
- We seek godly, prayerful, grace-filled, and Bible-rooted leadership—leaders who model faith and repentance, provide spiritual oversight, exercise godly discipline, and cast a compelling vision with clear direction.
- We desire leaders held to clear and appropriate accountability in both their leadership and their personal walk of faith.
- We long for a strategic vision that is not only clear and compelling but embraced by the whole congregation.
- We see the church as an interconnected body, where every part matters.
- We pray for effective pathways and structures that fuel both evangelism and discipleship.
- We need leaders who are both gentle and courageous—unafraid to have hard conversations, leaning into conflict as a means of discipleship and a way to glorify God.
- We value shared leadership—leaders who humbly and wisely include others in decision-making, trusting that God speaks through the collective wisdom of His people.
- Church size does not define church health. But we will pray and prepare for growth, setting goals, developing strategies, and working together for God’s glory.
A church discipling the next generation
- We want to disciple whole families, not just children, believing that kids thrive when their parents are growing in faith and love for Jesus.
- Discipleship is a community effort. Children need peers and godly adults who invest in their faith journey and pray for them.
- We see this as long-term work, so we’re paying attention to transitions—guiding kids from childhood to youth to young adulthood with care and intention.
